Explore Your Why

Have you ever noticed, it’s in the quiet of the night that the truth hits hardest?

It’s not by accident, in my opinion. It’s often when the house is still, the phone is set to silent, and there’s nothing left to distract you. Yup, that’s when the questions creep in. It’s something like:

Why am I still here? Why can’t I change? Why do I keep breaking promises to myself?

And if you’re honest, those nights sting a bit. Because deep down you know it’s not about willpower. It’s about your why.

Last week, I shared the first step in my DECIDE Method: Desire to Change. It’s the spark that lights the fire.

This week, we move to the second step: Explore Your WHY.

Stay with me here…

Your Tonic for the Week

Without a real why, change falls apart. It collapses like a ton of bricks.

You’ll try for a week, maybe a month… but when life gets heavy, the surface-level why won’t hold. And every time you quit, it dings your soul a little more.

It becomes another unfortunate validation of the story you’ve been telling yourself: See? I can’t do it. I’ll always be stuck.

That’s the cost of not digging deep enough.

But those days can be over.

Once you decide you’re done with the gray, desire lights the spark. It’s the catalyst of change.
The next step is to explore your why. I’m talking about the kind of why that anchors you when everything in you wants to give up.

This is more than motivation. It’s the foundation that keeps you standing when the storm comes.

What I’m Loving This Week:

  • That ruthless truth at 3 a.m. It’s often the purest version of yourself. Pay attention to what’s coming up.
  • Journaling raw, not polished. Write until it hurts. That’s where honesty lives. You can always burn the paper later. Just write.
  • A whispered prayer. “God, show me what I’m really after.” Because your Creator desires your heart. He wants to guide you when you earnestly seek Him.

Your Next Move:

Sit with this question tonight before bed:

Why do I want this change… really?

And don’t stop at the first answer. Go deeper. Keep asking. It’s crucial to go at least five layers deep to get to the root of your why.

When you find the why that makes your chest tighten and your eyes water, that’s the one. That’s your anchor.

I’d be honored for you to share your WHY with me. I invite you to send me a message. I’m here for it all.
