How to Be a New You (Identity Shift) using the D.E.C.I.D.E. Model of Change™

We’ve been walking through the D.E.C.I.D.E. Model of Change™ for personal transformation, having covered ‘D’ for Desire, ‘E’ for Exploring Your WHY, and ‘C’ for Commitment. Today, we turn to the fascinating I -Identity Shift. This crucial step in your transformation journey necessitates a change in your belief system and an embrace of a new identity.

An Identity Shift is Redefining Yourself

Our identities are intrinsically linked to our behaviors. The person we perceive ourselves to be profoundly influences our actions, reactions, and the reality we create. So, when we embark on a transformative journey, an identity shift is inevitable.

However, an Identity Shift isn’t about discarding your old self entirely. Instead, it’s about evolving and becoming an enhanced version of yourself. It’s about recognizing your potential and believing in the possibilities of the new reality you want to create.

Belief in Possibility: A Crucial Element

The process of identity shift begins with belief – belief in possibility. You must first believe it’s feasible to transform, to become a different version of yourself. Just as a caterpillar metamorphoses into a butterfly, you too can evolve into a more vibrant, fulfilling version of yourself.

But this belief isn’t passive. It demands action. Once you’ve made a decision to embody a new identity, align your behaviors and actions to this new self; gradually, these consistent actions will reinforce your new identity, making it an integral part of your reality.

Navigating the Shift: A Journey of Transformation

Shifting your identity can be a massive undertaking. It’s not about flipping a switch but about a consistent and deliberate journey of transformation. It’s about questioning your current beliefs, challenging your self-imposed limitations, and opening up to life’s endless possibilities.

Shifting your identity opens the door to incredible personal growth and lasting change. You enable yourself to make meaningful changes that align with your Desire, resonate with your WHY, and uphold your Commitment.
